This U.K. release truly established R & Z as a force in The Industry Underground. Industry insiders speculate that bandmembers Randeb Divad and Zak O. attribute lack of mainstream airplay to the perception that they had not yet been "discovered" by Industry executives stateside. Some surmise that "After The Board Meeting" reflects the sentiments of the band at the time. With rousing lyric and soaring keyboard, this spirited number harkens to days o' The Blur, as does the ultra-smooth and mildly haunting "Sweet Memories." The latter, a limited-pressing single, reaped generous chart success in 1996 and to this day stands out as an R & Z favorite, if not an Industry gem worthy of re-discovery. "Vacation Song" delightfully manifests the band's style of free-form instrumental innovation, of the keyboard and acoustic guitar variety, and further solidifies "the sound" that Industry aficionados so readily associate with Randy & Zako. "Bob In Ireland" lends a punk influence to the product. Particularly notable are Randy's conviction of lyric delivery as well as Zako's dynamic keyboard maneuvers which arguably rival those of The Captain [spoof on Randy & Tennille(tm)]. "Poetry" blends word and muzical acrobatics for an auditory adventure ripe with orgasmic innuendo and Black Friday banter. This concluding track caps a studio performance swirling with signature R & Z. -- reviewed by Yeldarb Teaneck
